Job Summary
The Departmental Secretary I position for the History department in the College of Arts & Sciences is responsible for, but not limited to: maintaining budgets; filing; coordinating meetings and appointments for the department; managing databases and spreadsheets; working directly with students and helping them with administrative tasks such as declaring a major and course registration; processing adjunct and overload contracts; ensuring requisitions, purchase orders and invoices are processed in a timely manner; monitoring account balances for budget line items; proving secretarial assistance to faculty; maintaining and ordering office supplies; and other general clerical and secretarial tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of one year of clerical office work experience
3. Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
4. Excellent communication skills
5. Ability to multi-task
Preferred Qualifications
1. Some college coursework
2. Experience with Datatel
