Job description

Miller Transportation Group is a mid-size, rapidly growing leader in the transportation industry that has been family-owned and operated since 1912. The company's several business units operate as follows:
  • Miller Dedicated Services - Supports customers in outsourcing their transportation needs by providing vehicles, drivers, fuel, insurance, and overall industry expertise.
  • Miller Truck Leasing - the largest privately-held truck leasing company on the East Coast. Provides full-service leasing, finance leasing, truck rental, and truck maintenance programs.
  • Miller Dealerships - Provides car and light truck solutions across the Ford, Lincoln, and Subaru brands.
  • Miller Brokerage Services - Provides on-demand capacity solutions through our network of reliable carriers.

Join our growing team as the Account Manager for our Miller Dedicated Services division in the Charlotte, NC area. The Account Manager will be the go-to person for the client and will supervise the day-in and day-out operation at our client location. This position is responsible for scheduling and management of 11 CDL A Drivers on a daily basis, as well as, acting as the liaison between the client, our drivers, and the management team for Miller Dedicated Services.
Requirements
You Have:
  • Prior experience managing a staff of professional Drivers delivering to our client's HUBs and Distribution Centers.
  • Prior Routing experience as this person will be overseeing Routing (once established routes will stay the same)
  • Experience supervising the loading of trucks for day to day deliveries
  • Experience entering detailed delivery information into appropriate software and collection of paperwork daily
  • Experience scheduling Drivers and managing the daily operations while acting as the liaison between our client, our drivers, and the MDS management team.
  • The ability and willingness to be on-call for any operational issues

You Will:
  • Take responsibility for the successful day to day operations of our Dedicated Contract Carriage at client site
  • Be the Go-To person at the site for our client, drivers, and the MDS management team
  • Complete all requirements of the job with direction and support from the MDS team
  • Be capable of helping build out the operations at the site
  • Be available to work:
    • Sunday Night - Thursday Night (Friday AM finish)
    • Hours are 10:00 PM until 6:30 AM (with flexibility as needed)
