JOB SUMMARY
This position leads the design and delivery of scalable, flexible, and cost-effective cloud-based data solutions to support the organization's enterprise data and business intelligence needs. Responsibilities include translating complex business requirements and unique organizational challenges into strategic information architecture, guiding the implementation of a new data warehouse, and establishing a robust foundation for enterprise reporting and analytics. The role critically informs and designs change initiatives related to information systems, ensures data integrity and accessibility across platforms, and drives the development of long-term, sustainable data solutions that enable informed decision-making and organizational success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.
  • Provide assistance to all Lunds & Byerlys team members modeling company customer service standards at all times
  • Lead solution architecture rebuild efforts and ongoing optimization design for data warehouse
  • Support organizational change management efforts related to data initiatives, including rollout of data governance program and supporting processes
  • Provide technical project leadership from architecture to delivery of solutions for data-rich implementations
  • Evaluate new applications utilized to access data in various functional areas of the business, partnering and collaborating effectively with others
  • Document architecture solutions for multiple audiences
  • Define enterprise data standards (glossary, KPI catalog, CDEs), establish data quality and access controls, and deliver governed semantic models and dashboards that become the "one version of truth" for leadership and business teams
  • Define and document best practices for data process, including ETL processes, data storage, and data cleansing, to support integration, data sharing, analysis and business intelligence solutions
  • Partner in development of roadmap for data initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and/or optimization across greater organization to streamline workflow and create efficiencies
  • Lead requirements review process to understand business functionality impacts to methodological changes to business processes
  • Partner with development team and technical services team to support change implementation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education
    1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  2. Experience
    1. 7 or more years' of experience architecting enterprise data solutions, including implementation of new solutions or rebuild/overhaul of current solutions
    2. Experience architecting cloud data solutions across multiple technologies, including Snowflake
    3. Strong ability to work with different databases and platforms
    4. Experience working with many different types of data, including Financial, Marketing, PII, PCI, and PHI
    5. Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate database structures used to support different data
    6. Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
