Job description

JOB TITLE: 3D Capture Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Creative Specialists
REPORTS TO: Creative Specialist Manager
SUMMARY
We are looking for a 3D Capture Specialist (3DCS) in the Bay Area that is responsible for the in-field execution of Aerial Canvas's 3D and 2D scanning and spatial capture solutions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Matterport scanning, LiDAR capture, floor plan measurements, virtual tours, spatial documentation, and file management. A 3D Capture Specialist utilizes technical precision, operational consistency, and strong communication skills to ensure client satisfaction while upholding the standards and core values of Aerial Canvas. They are expected to operate independently, be detail obsessive, and excel in time management and accountability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete 3D scanning, floor plans, and spatial capture services on site for clients.
    Operate 3D and 360 equipment, including LiDAR-based scanning tools.
  • Upload scan data and communicate any and all applicable field notes to respective team members.
  • Identify and determine the best scanning and spatial documentation solutions while completing our services.
  • Travel to and from shoots in a timely manner throughout the Bay Area and additional markets as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients and on-site contacts remotely and in person.
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage company scanning equipment.
  • Maintain calendar accuracy for scheduling and time tracking purposes.
  • Maintain responsive and consistent communication across departments.
  • Operate effectively within both a team environment and individually.
  • Maintain accurate property documentation, measurements, and scan quality standards.
  • Participate in approved and/or required training and development opportunities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional etiquette, positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills is a must.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to function independently with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Platform proficiency in Slack, Monday, Google Suite, and Dropbox preferred.
  • Prior experience with Matterport, LiDAR technology, 3D scanning, or spatial mapping is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

WORK HOURS
This is a full-time (40+ hours per week) hourly, non-exempt position. Weekend availability is required. Our standard operating hours are from Monday-Sunday, 9:00 am PST to 6:00 pm PST. Schedule may vary depending on shoot assignments, travel requirements, and operational needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant work experience preferred
  • Prior field operations, technical capture, mapping, or client-facing service experience is a plus
    No prior 3D scanning experience required - full training provided

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
