What's the role?
The Research Data Science Specialist Sales team is a fast-paced and high growth area within the Enterprise Data Specialist Sales division that sells to the Quant and Research audience across sell-side and buy-side accounts. With the proliferation of trends such as Data Science and AI within the investment space, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing part of our organization.
Quant and Research Data Sales Specialists will be responsible for the sales and retention of our quantitative data and technology suite of offerings. This includes, but is not limited to, our event driven feeds, company fundamentals and estimates suite, alternative data, macro-economic data, microstructure data, and API delivery. To be successful, you will need to have a proven track record of B2B selling, collaboration with multiple internal departments, proficiency in data and technology within the investment research workflow, and staying on top of evolving market trends. In addition, we are looking for someone who can bring deep insights and experience within this industry.
We'll trust you to:
- Develop and execute on sales strategy to drive annual sales and revenue targets for a defined territory
- Work efficiently in a collaborative selling environment while maximizing the resources available to achieve success
- Build and execute on sales strategies with other internal sales and account management groups
- Proactively identify new pipeline opportunities and accurately maintain sales forecasts
- Build and execute on sales strategies while collaborating with other internal sales and account management groups as required
- Build trusted relationships with quant-focused clients, as well as C-level executives, to acquire knowledge and understanding of their quantitative processes and data & technology stacks
- Educate and assist Enterprise Sales members across the organization on learning how to identify relevant sales opportunities in the business.
- Frequent client and prospect interaction through sales calls and on-site visits
- Ongoing education of customer technology stacks, workflows, internal structure, and industry trends
- Leverage your knowledge and skill set to build and maintain credibility with clients, identify gaps, and recommend solutions to deliver on revenue-generating goals.
You'll need to have:
- Minimum 5 years experience in enterprise solutions selling in or to the financial markets
- In depth understanding of investment research workflows
- Strong track record in consultative selling
- Proven ability in accurate pipeline management from initial lead to close
- Ability to establish key relationships within strategic quantitative accounts, including senior client relationships at C-levels
- Desire to continually learn and add new technical and selling skills
- Highly motivated and target/quota driven
- Based in New York with willingness for regular business travel
We'd love to see:
- 8+ years of relevant industry, sales, and market experience
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience selling Research data or Alternative data sets
- Understanding of AI/ML/Data Science within the financial domain
Salary Range = 185,000 - 250,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
