JOB SUMMARY
Develops high-quality secondary literacy curriculum and job-embedded professional learning for grades 6-12, aligned to district standards. Partners with key stakeholders to strengthen instructional practices, ensure coherence across grade levels, and support students in building the skills needed for rigorous, grade-level content and long-term academic success.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Designs and develops job-embedded professional learning aligned to curriculum, including slides, activities, and assessments
2. Supports development of teacher-facing curriculum materials aligned to district instructional expectations
3. Evaluates curriculum for rigor, clarity, and cultural relevance
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED
4. Participates in PLC/brain trust sessions to refine curriculum and instructional practices
5. Attends and contributes to TEKS-aligned professional development
6. Collaborates with teachers and leaders to support implementation
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years teaching or district experience
SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Level 1-No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff.

Decisions are made with greater freedom and discretion, including recommendations that are subject to approval on matters that may affect multiple departments across HISD.
