Job description

Academic Req:Required - Bachelor's degree in education, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Equivalent experience accepted. Masters degree preferred.


Work Experience:
1. Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting, and e-Learning authoring tools, development tools, and technologies.
2. Strong knowledge of curriculum design principles, educational theories, and instructional design methodologies.
3. Seasoned experience using instructional design software, multimedia tools, and learning management systems (e.g. Cornerstone, Blackboard, Canvas, Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, etc.).
4. Versatile written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
5. Familiarity with educational standards and regulations in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama is a plus.
6. Strong public speaking or presentation experience.

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
1. Develop and design comprehensive instructional materials, user guides, trainer facilitation guides, tutorials, job aids, assessments, and multimedia resources. Online courses, modules, and learning materials for various educational programs must align with organizational objectives and/or grants, co-operative agreements and state, federal, and licensing standards.
2. Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create structured, learner-centered content and activities.
3. Create engaging and interactive learning experiences by incorporating multimedia elements, such as videos, graphics, and interactive activities.
4. Implement and maintain standards for online course development and delivery, as well as conduct quality assurance reviews of online courses to ensure they meet standards and best practices.
5. Ensure content is up-to-date, relevant, and easily accessible by partnering with LMS administrator.
6. Maintain version control and content organization systems.

Other Responsibilities:
1. Implement best practices for making e-learning content accessible to all learners.
2. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations related to e-learning.
3. Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops on e-learning best practices and tools, as well as various projects and initiatives, to include New Employee Orientation and Executive Leadership Orientations.
4. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational goals.
5. Provide guidance and support to trainers in effectively implementing curriculum and instructional strategies in their training practices.
6. Work in partnership with the Content Manager to track and meet deadlines for each phase of instructional design projects (e.g., needs analysis, content development, review cycles).

Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
2. Proficiency in E-learning authoring and development tools (Eg: Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, Microsoft's Office Suite, and Adobe's Creative Suite)
3. Notable computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and HR/LMS Technology such as Workday and Cornerstone.
4. Proficient organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
5. Prioritizes quality assurance processes to meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
6. Excellent virtual and in-person communication and time-management skills.
7. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, SMEs, and stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
8. Understanding of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design principles
9. Experience using ADDIE, SAM, or Agile methodology.
10. Basic knowledge of related web development technologies (HTML 5, CSS and Java script is a plus)
11. Experience creating storyboards and translating them into engaging web-based learning modules.
12. Familiarity with SCORM and other e-learning training standards (i.e. aggregate Shareable Content Objects (SCOs) to create SCORM compliant content packages) for delivery on the LMS.
13. Ability to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences.
14. Experience in conducting needs assessment and GAP analyses.
15. Meticulous attention to detail in design and content accuracy.
16. Ability to create visually appealing and effective learning materials.
17. Innovative and creative approach to instructional design and learning solutions.
