We own and operate a worldwide fleet of vessels, providing specialized maritime solutions to clients across offshore, research, and industrial sectors. We are seeking an experienced Crewing Compliance Manager to join our Human Resources Team.


Position Summary:

Manages crewing and related HR activities to ensure all vessel crewing needs are met. The Crewing Compliance Manager ensures that each vessel has the appropriate crew complement that meets regulatory requirements. The Crewing Manager's focus is to improve the crew experience by fostering better crew relations, clarifying company policies, and strengthening team cohesion. The ย Crewing Compliance Manager works collaboratively with the Crewing Acquisition Team to ensure that all crew members meet the vessel's regulatory requirements.ย 


Essential functions:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day vessel HR processes related to vessel manning, crew relations, and benefit administration. Including upholding COI and flag state requirements.ย 
  • Assist with periodic reviews of regulatory requirements for crew and recommend fleet updates.ย 
  • Performs periodic audits of crew files and records to ensure that all required employment documents and training are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Periodically review crew files to identify potential compliance issues.ย 
  • Perform periodic audits to ensure crew contracts are being issued and signed.ย 
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports on personnel-related data, including performance appraisals, terminations, exit interviews, and safety records.
  • Regularly evaluate crew policies and procedures to ensure they continue to meet the organization's needs, legal standards, and industry best practices.ย 
  • Assist in creating, distributing, and enforcing policies and procedures for vessel crews.ย 
  • Assist with tracking and managing crew injuries.ย 
  • Support the HSE Manager as needed in investigations.ย 
  • Manage the crew rotation schedules and distribute them to other departments as needed.
  • Manage USCG-compliant drug testing program for crew and annual reporting.
  • Manage the annual renewal of crew paperwork. Annual contracts, health assessments, and annual trainings.ย ย 
  • Assist with allocating human resources and crew benefits, ensuring proper enrollment and terminations are tracked.ย 
  • Identify and recommend crew for advancement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Crew Acquisition Coordinator to support and guide Operations by mitigating disputes and terminations and administering disciplinary actions.ย 
  • Supports Vessel Managers and Vessel Coordinators in building a culture of inclusivity and belonging within the crews.ย 
  • Support the continued engagement of crew to increase morale and culture onboard the vessel(s).ย 
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify the reasons crew members left.ย 
  • Tracks crew retention rates.ย 
  • Regularly reviews fleet payrolls.ย 
  • Lead weekly coordinator calls.ย 
  • Participates in cadet hires and represents the company at maritime college career fairs as available.
  • Understand and support the company's SMS.ย ย 
  • Assist in the creation of the annual HR budget
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Leadership.ย 

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of maritime labor laws and USCG licensing structureย 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiasm for working within a team environment
  • Agility to flex responsibilities as the role evolves.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience: Degree in Human Resources or equivalent years of experience

Experience: 5 years in Human Resources or related fieldย ย
