A Director of Patient Safety opportunity is available in Asheville, NC, at an 853-bed regional tertiary and quaternary care center that serves as the area's only trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and children's hospital, and holds Magnet® designation for nursing excellence.
The role. Reporting within hospital leadership, the Director of Patient Safety leads and collaborates in the implementation of the hospital-based patient safety program, with the overarching goal of eliminating preventable patient harm. Core responsibilities include applying systems thinking and reliable design principles to identify and mitigate patient safety risk, advancing a culture of safety across clinical and operational teams, and delivering patient safety education to staff at all levels. The director partners closely with executive and clinical leaders to drive measurable reductions in avoidable harm and champions patient and family engagement as a fundamental component of the safety program.
What we're looking for.
- Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field (Master's Degree preferred)
- Three to five years of healthcare experience in patient safety, risk, and/or quality; experience should be recent and within a clinical setting such as a hospital or ambulatory surgery center; clinical background preferred
- (CPPS) Certified Professional in Patient Safety; if not already a CPPS, it must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date and maintained while in the role
Schedule. Full-time, days, Monday through Friday administrative hours with no weekend requirement.
Compensation. $125,000 - $180,000 per year plus Incentive Bonus of Up To 17.5% Relocation: Case by Case Basis
