The Role, in Brief


The Media Planning Supervisor leads the agency's Media Planning team, developing integrated,
insight-driven media strategies that help clients achieve measurable business outcomes. This role
oversees a team of Media Planners responsible for audience strategy, communications planning, channel
recommendations, media investment strategy, and campaign performance analysis across traditional and
digital media.


Working closely with the Digital Media Supervisor, Analytics, Account Services, Creative, and Strategy
teams, the Media Planning Supervisor ensures media recommendations are rooted in data, aligned with
client objectives, and seamlessly transitioned into execution. This role serves as a strategic media leader,
building trusted client relationships while mentoring a high-performing planning team and advancing
integrated media capabilities across the agency.


Responsibilities Include


Team Leadership & Management
Lead, coach, and develop a team of Media Planners responsible for integrated media strategy
and planning.
Establish priorities, manage workloads, and ensure strategic deliverables are completed
accurately and on schedule.
Foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
Serve as the final quality control checkpoint for media plans, strategic recommendations, client
presentations, and planning documentation.


Integrated Media Strategy & Planning
Lead development of integrated media strategies across traditional and digital channels, including
television, radio, streaming audio, out-of-home, print, paid search, paid social, programmatic,
digital video, CTV, and emerging media.
Translate business objectives into audience-first communications strategies.
Develop media investment recommendations that balance reach, frequency, efficiency, and
business outcomes.
Evaluate media opportunities and recommend channel allocations based on audience behavior,
market conditions, and campaign objectives.
Guide planners in developing thoughtful, insight-driven media recommendations supported by
research and data.


Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership
Build trusted relationships with clients by serving as a strategic media advisor.
Present integrated media strategies, annual plans, campaign recommendations, POVs, and
performance insights to clients and agency leadership.
Lead planning discussions that align media investments with evolving client business goals.
Partner with Account Services to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
Support agency business development efforts through strategic media recommendations and
presentations.


Audience Insights & Measurement
Leverage syndicated research, first-party data, and audience insights to inform planning
decisions.
Partner with Analytics to develop campaign measurement frameworks and success metrics.
Evaluate campaign performance and recommend strategic optimizations based on business
results.
Identify audience trends, competitive activity, and emerging media opportunities.
Collaborate with clients on marketing technology and data strategies that improve planning and
decision-making.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the Digital Media Supervisor to ensure media strategies are translated into flawless
campaign execution.
Collaborate with Analytics to develop measurement plans and actionable reporting.
Work closely with Creative teams to align messaging, formats, and channel strategies.
Coordinate with Account Services to ensure planning recommendations support overall client
objectives.
Ensure smooth handoffs between Planning, Activation, Analytics, and Creative throughout the
campaign lifecycle.


Innovation & Thought Leadership
Stay current on evolving media consumption trends, emerging platforms, consumer behaviors,
and industry best practices.
Identify innovative media opportunities that create competitive advantages for clients.
Develop strategic POVs and thought leadership around media trends and emerging technologies.
Champion integrated planning methodologies and audience-first thinking across the agency.
Continuously improve planning processes, templates, and strategic frameworks.

Leadership

Required Experience
7+ years of media planning experience within an advertising agency or integrated marketing
environment.
2+ years of people management or team leadership experience.
Extensive experience developing integrated media strategies across traditional and digital
channels.
Strong understanding of audience planning, communications strategy, and media investment
planning.
Experience managing cross-channel media budgets and investment recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to present strategic recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with experience translating campaign data into actionable business
insights.
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.

Schedule and Location:


Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm. Remote work available Fridays.


This role will be based out of our Denver, CO office.


Compensation
The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $105,000/yr.


*New hires typically start between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range posted depending on
qualifications.
