Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Proofread and compare guide content in English and/or Spanish to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • When needed, correct grammatical, typographical, and compositional errors.
  • Ensure that all content matches the author's version.
  • Collaborate with the translation and editorial teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues in the content.
  • Use Adobe InDesign to review and correct the voter guide layout and text.
  • Maintain high attention to detail and accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to improve the translation and proofreading process.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills in English and Spanish are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is desirable.
  • Previous experience in editing, proofreading, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with voter guide information is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field desired but not needed.
