Business Development Executive

LOCATION:      Sterling Heights, Michigan. office based

SALARY: $60,000 – $90,000 OTE

WORKING HOURS: 7am - 4.30pm

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced salesperson looking to develop their career within a growing international business.

You'll play an important role in growing our US customer base, identifying new opportunities and building strong relationships with both prospective and existing customers.

You'll use a combination of outbound calling, email, research and relationship building to identify and qualify new opportunities, while working closely with our Area Sales Representatives to progress larger opportunities.

You don't need to have experience in furniture or our industry. We're looking for someone with a strong sales foundation, the right attitude and a willingness to learn. We'll provide the product knowledge, training and support to help you develop and succeed the Pineapple way.

What you'll be doing

  • Generate new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, research and other prospecting activities.
  • Build relationships with prospective and existing customers and identify their needs.
  • Qualify leads and develop opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Arrange meetings and support Area Sales Representatives with new business opportunities.
  • Prepare quotations and proactively follow up with customers.
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within our CRM.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Pineapple's products and the markets we serve.
  • Work closely with the wider sales team to develop and convert opportunities.
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows and showroom visits when required.
  • Take ownership of your sales activity, targets and pipeline.
  • Participate in regular training and development to build your product and sales knowledge.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Sales experience is essential, but we're open-minded about the type of sales background you come from.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a sales role and is motivated by achieving targets and results.
  • Is confident communicating with customers and building relationships.
  • Is comfortable proactively contacting prospective customers by phone and email.
  • Is resilient, persistent and able to handle objections positively.
  • Has a genuine interest in developing new business and growing customer relationships.
  • Is organised and able to manage multiple opportunities and follow-ups.
  • Has experience using a CRM system or is confident learning new systems.
  • Has a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Takes ownership of their results and enjoys working as part of a team.

Experience in furniture, healthcare or contract furniture is not required. What matters most is your sales experience, attitude and potential. We'll teach you our products, our markets and the Pineapple way of working.
