Minitab is seeking a motivated and goal-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales organization. This is an entry-level role designed for individuals looking to build a career in technology sales within a supportive and highly collaborative environment.

As a BDR, you will work within an assigned geographic region and/or industry vertical to generate pipeline and revenue opportunities. You'll qualify both inbound leads and outbound campaign contacts to identify their business needs and interest in our statistical analysis software products and services.

Through mentorship, hands-on training, and ongoing sales coaching, this role offers a clear path for career advancement—including promotion into inside sales and account management positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with inbound leads and contacts to assess their needs, challenges, and level of interest in Minitab solutions.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting to targeted accounts through phone outreach, email, and marketing campaigns.
  • Qualify prospects based on fit, need, and readiness to move into the sales pipeline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with future buyers who require long-term nurturing.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to improve lead quality and conversion.
  • Maintain accurate activity and prospect information within CRM tools.
  • Work toward and achieve monthly and quarterly performance goals related to lead qualification and pipeline contribution.

Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree (college/technical) or equivalent required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to pursue a career in sales, with a willingness to learn and be coached.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Previous customer-facing experience (retail, service, hospitality, internships, etc.).
  • Prior BDR or phone-based outreach experience is a plus.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $40,000 annually
  • Commission: Eligible for a $20,000/year commission plan, with uncapped earning potential based on performance.
