Job Title: Construction / Relocation Project Manager

Job Description

The Construction / Relocation Project Manager leads mid- to small-size construction and relocation projects, with a strong emphasis on move management and large-scale furniture coordination. This role serves as the central point of contact for employee and corporate relocations, overseeing the full project lifecycle from initial client consultation and planning through execution and closeout. The position requires a proactive, tech-savvy project manager who can coordinate vendors, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Facilities, IT, AV, Security, and business stakeholders. The Project Manager ensures that space solutions meet business needs, optimize workplace efficiency, and align with organizational standards while maintaining high quality and seamless service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all relocation project activities, including moves, reconfigurations, and small construction-related projects.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all aspects of employee and corporate relocations, managing work queues and ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders.
  • Plan, execute, and close projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, scope, and budget.
  • Coordinate and manage mid- to small-size construction projects and related activities within a corporate real estate environment.
  • Oversee vendor management and coordination, including furniture vendors and other service providers, to support moves, reconfigurations, and space enhancements.
  • Manage a large furniture coordination component, including configuring, ordering, tracking, and overseeing installation and relocation of new or reused furniture.
  • Develop and maintain furniture plans and budgets in collaboration with relocation, facility, project, and construction managers as required.
  • Oversee meetings to review furniture installation schedules with furniture installation vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Supervise delivery, off-loading, staging, and installation of furniture and related products.
  • Manage scheduling for moves and services that occur outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure successful execution of weekend and evening work.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Facilities, IT, AV, Security, and business stakeholders to deliver space solutions that meet business needs and organizational standards.
  • Ensure best practices, policies, and processes are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, monitor progress, and proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage project budgets and costs, track project finances, and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Process purchase orders and invoices, and support due diligence and financial tracking for projects.
  • Implement and utilize technology platforms, systems, process management tools, data analytics, and strategic advisory practices to improve project controls.
  • Ensure accurate data input into the CAFM system to maintain occupancy and space utilization information.
  • Oversee work orders and small project management, including furniture reconfigurations and space enhancements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing innovative project management practices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, clients, and internal stakeholders to support seamless service delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams and business units to support collaboration and alignment on project goals.
  • Effectively supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate direct reports when applicable.
  • Manage all aspects of move management projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and change orders, to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
  • Provide after-hours support for critical moves and relocation activities when required.
  • Utilize project management software and the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Project, to plan, track, and report on project activities.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate documentation and reporting for all assigned projects.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Skills

  • Approximately 5 years of experience in relocation project management, MAC (moves, adds, changes) project management, facilities management, or related experience in a corporate real estate environment.
  • Proven experience managing mid- to small-size construction and relocation projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of relocation processes, move management best practices, and corporate space planning.
  • Expereince in project management, construction management, architecture, or project strategy planning.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of move management projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and change orders.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAFM technology, including systems with a move management module and/or facilities management system.
  • Proficiency with work order systems, such as Corrigo, or similar platforms.
  • Strong ability to utilize project management software for planning, scheduling, and tracking project activities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Strong Microsoft Project skills for scheduling and project tracking.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong working knowledge of architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to identify, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in planning, documentation, and execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive-level internal and external clients.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate direct reports when required.
  • Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed to support project demands.
  • Tech-savvy approach to project management, communication, and collaboration tools.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to anticipate needs, identify issues early, and drive solutions.

  • Experience working in a corporate real estate environment, supporting facilities, space planning, and relocation initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating large furniture programs, including configuring, ordering, and overseeing installation and relocation.
  • Experience overseeing vendor procurement and managing outside labor for construction, relocation, and furniture projects.
  • Experience using CAFM systems to maintain accurate occupancy and space utilization data.
  • Experience implementing or leveraging technology platforms, process management tools, and data analytics for project controls and strategic advisory.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement innovative project management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Comfort working as the primary project management resource on-site while collaborating with broader teams remotely.
  • Previous experience in vendor management and coordination across multiple disciplines (e.g., furniture, IT, AV, Security, general contractors).

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional corporate real estate and construction environment, focusing on mid- to small-size construction, relocation, and space planning projects. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work to support moves and services outside standard business hours. The position requires being on-site three days per week and may involve travel up to approximately 30%, including trips to other states to support project activities. The work involves close collaboration with Facilities, IT, AV, Security, vendors, and business stakeholders, as well as coordination with furniture installation teams and other service providers. The environment is technology-driven, utilizing CAD/CAFM systems, work order platforms such as Corrigo, project management software, and the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Project. Parking in a garage is provided and covered by the client. The role requires flexibility, responsiveness, and comfort working in both office and active project-site settings, where multiple projects and stakeholders must be managed simultaneously.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $36.00/hr.
