Construction Project Manager/Building Superintendent

Big Dog Ranch Rescue(“BDRR”) is a one-of-a-kind dog rescue facility located in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida. We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Construction Project Manager to oversee construction projects at our 33-acre dog rescue facility. The Construction Project Manager/superintendent is responsible to the President of BDRR for managing all aspects of the building projects from commencement to completion of the projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • During pre-construction phase, attend all design meetings with General Contractor/President of BDRR, continuously evaluate the materials and products being proposed for constructability and feasibility.
  • Get a minimum of 2 bids on each item needed to complete each building from subcontractors.
  • Prepare bids and contracts and with approval of the General Contractor/President BDRR, negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements.
  • Requisition supplies subcontractors and materials to complete project in a timely manner with best price and quality in mind.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines and supervise subcontractors on daily basis.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Prepare all necessary permits and submit under General Contractor/President BDRR.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and constructions problems.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction site to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Conduct project review meetings and furnish weekly progress reports to the President.
  • Assess the work of contractors, measure the completed work and make recommendations to the President for payments to contractors.
  • Keep track of hourly labor on daily basis to compare with invoices.
  • Secure and get materials delivered in a timely manner to not hold up construction (occasionally you will need to pick it up yourself).

Qualifications

  • BA Degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in construction.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of previous experience as a Project Manager.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • PASTED EMPLOYER REFERENCES WITH RESUME IS REQUIRED.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Resume should include a list of 3-5 construction projects and your role in and during the construction project.

References should be included: 1 personal and 3 work related.
