Job description

Position: Fire Protection System Designer 2
Position Overview:
As a Fire Protection System Designer 2, you will be responsible for the design, layout, hydraulic calculations, stock listing, and material ordering for Fire Protection System projects. In this role, you will have increased autonomy and will be entrusted with more complex project scopes as you grow in the position.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize AutoCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, and HydraLIST to design Fire Protection Systems.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and develop detailed job specifications.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on schedule and within established timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to provide cost estimates and determine material requirements.
  • Conduct on-site surveys to assess project scope and gather necessary information.
  • Address design challenges and implement effective, practical solutions.
  • Actively participate in project coordination meetings and support project management activities.
Licensing & Experience:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Design or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
  • Strong proficiency in NFPA standards, fire/building codes, AutoCAD, HydraCAD, HydraCALC, HydraLIST, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and technology skills.
Work Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday.
  • 8-hour shift.
