Job description

Job Title: Project Manager – High-End Remodeling & New Construction
Location: Remote
Position Type: Full-Time

About the Role

Skycrest Homes is looking for an experienced, relationship-driven Project Manager to oversee high-end residential remodeling and new construction projects. This role is ideal for a professional with deep experience in managing luxury residential builds and, importantly, someone who already maintains strong working relationships with architects in the Chicago-area custom home industry.

As a key leader on our team, you’ll manage projects from pre-construction through final walkthrough, acting as the central point of contact between clients, architects, trades, and our internal teams. Your industry connections and collaborative mindset will be critical to keeping projects running smoothly, on time, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage high-end custom home and remodeling projects from start to finish—ensuring quality, budget, and timeline goals are met.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Skycrest Homes, clients, architects, designers, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leverage existing architect relationships to foster smooth collaboration and anticipate design-related considerations early in the process.
  • Lead and facilitate pre-construction meetings, job site coordination, and scheduling.
  • Ensure that construction aligns with plans, specs, and client expectations, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, keeping them informed of progress, decisions, and any necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinate with procurement and estimating teams to manage selections, materials, and changes.
  • Monitor project budgets, change orders, and invoices to ensure accurate financial tracking.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of residential project management experience, ideally in high-end remodeling or custom home construction.
  • Proven relationships with local architects and design professionals in the high-end residential space.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a client-focused, collaborative approach.
  • Deep understanding of construction methods, sequencing, materials, and codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications with ease.
  • Skilled at using project management tools, scheduling software, and digital communication platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling multiple active projects.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with architect-led or design-build project teams.
  • Familiarity with remodeling complexities (e.g., structural surprises, zoning, matching materials).
  • Past success managing luxury or architecturally significant homes.

Why Skycrest Homes?

Skycrest Homes is a custom homebuilder and remodeling firm serving the northwest Chicago suburbs. We specialize in high-end projects with a client-first mindset, grounded in professionalism, budget accountability, and design excellence. As a Project Manager, you’ll work with top-tier talent and clients who care about craftsmanship, trust, and experience.
