IT Support Technician

BMZ USA, Inc. develops and manufactures advanced lithium-ion battery systems for a wide range of applications. BMZ USA is seeking a motivated, hands-on IT Support Technician to support daily IT operations across both office and manufacturing environments. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, helping users, improving systems, and making a visible impact in a growing, technology-driven company.

In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for IT support needs, helping ensure our hardware, software, and systems remain reliable, secure, and efficient. You will also work closely with local leadership and BMZ Group’s IT team in Germany on ongoing support and improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, systems, and application issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and network connectivity
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade hardware and software
  • Set up and deploy new IT equipment for employees
  • Support user account access and related technical requests
  • Maintain accurate documentation of hardware, software, and system configurations
  • Escalate and coordinate issues with second- and third-level IT support teams as needed
  • Train and support users on IT tools, systems, and best practices
  • Help ensure compliance with company IT policies, cybersecurity practices, and acceptable use standards
  • Participate in local and global IT projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by local management or BMZ Group IT leadership
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, help desk, or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Windows operating systems
    • Microsoft Office
    • Active Directory
    • Desktop hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Experience with remote support tools, VPNs, and help desk/ticketing systems
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting IT in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise, Keyence, or AutoCAD
  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or similar
  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Work Environment

This role supports both office and manufacturing operations. The position may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. In some production areas, exposure to elevated noise, machinery, airborne particles, and electrical systems may occur. Personal protective equipment, including hearing protection and grounding equipment, are required in designated areas.
