JOB DESCRIPTION - COMPUTER OPERATOR II

REPORTS TO Project Manager

Summary

Processes scheduled routines which present few difficult operating problems (e.g., infrequent or easily resolved error conditions). In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, applies standard operating or corrective procedure. Refers problems which do not respond to preplanned procedure. May serve as an assistant operator, working under general supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process scheduled routines which present few difficult operating problems (e.g., infrequent or easily resolved error conditions).

Apply standard operating or corrective procedure in response to computer output instructions or error conditions.

Refer problems which do not respond to preplanned procedure.

May serve as an assistant operator, working under general supervision.

Other duties that may be assigned by Assistant Project Manager.

Qualifications

Experience with calculators and computers. Academic skills suitable for ensuring developed forms are properly completed; mathematically and grammatically correct. Ability to keep neat and accurate records and files. Experienced in inventory control practices. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance as stipulated by the contract.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED and experience in computer skills associated with operating inventory control systems (preferred).

Physical Demands

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently sitting/standing for long periods of time. The employee must be able to stoop, bend, push, and pull; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a periodic basis.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in a warm and/or cold environment.
