Role Summary:
The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support across payroll, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee records management, and general HR operations.
This role plays an important part in creating positive team member experiences by ensuring HR processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and confidentially. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and enjoys supporting both team members and managers.
Accountable For:
1. Payroll Support
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related administration.
  • Review timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Process routine payroll changes and documentation.
  • Respond to team member payroll inquiries.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports.
2. Benefits and HR Administration
  • Support benefits enrollment and team member communications.
  • Assist with leave administration documentation and tracking.
  • Maintain employee records within HR systems.
  • Generate HR reports and maintain departmental records.
  • Assist with team member engagement and recognition programs.
3. Recruiting Coordination
  • Review applications and assist with candidate screening.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communications.
  • Conduct reference checks and assist with background screening activities.
  • Maintain applicant tracking records and recruiting documentation.
4. Onboarding Support
  • Prepare new-hire workflows and onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate employment documentation and client badging, including compliance with occupational health requirements.
  • Ensure personnel files are complete and organized.
  • Track onboarding completion and required documentation.
5. Operational and Administrative Support
  • Monitor HR inboxes and respond to routine inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of team member information at all times.
  • Support audits, reporting requirements, and special projects.
  • Assist with policy acknowledgements and team member communications.
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, or equivalent. Associate’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources, Payroll, Recruiting, or Administrative experience
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll platforms or applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience supporting payroll, recruiting, or onboarding functions.
  • Basic knowledge of employment practices and HR operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
