Job description

OLIVE & FINCH COLLECTIVE
Job Description: Catering Sales Manager
Department: Catering / Events / Operations
Reports to: Catering Director
Position Type: Salaried, Exempt (Base Salary + Commissions)
About Olive & Finch Collective
Olive & Finch Collective is a Denver-based hospitality group committed to fresh, chef-driven meals, exceptional guest experiences, and a people-first culture. Since opening in 2013, our growing portfolio includes streetside restaurants, cafรฉs, a full-service bakeshop, a robust catering and events division, retail and grab-and-go operations, and multiple airport locations. At Olive & Finch, we believe in inclusive leadership, sustainable growth, and nourishing both our guests and our teams.
Position Summary
The Catering Sales Manager is a proactive sales professional dedicated to driving revenue growth and expanding the catering footprint for Olive & Finch and Little Finch. This role owns catering guest data, system administration, and guest ordering experiences across platforms like Toast Catering and ezCater. Physically working on-site out of the catering restaurant location, the Catering Sales Manager ensures every guest who orders catering is proactively reached out to and satisfaction is guaranteed.
To drive revenue growth, this role collaborates with the Marketing Director on catering promotional campaigns and sales materials, while partnering separately with the Catering Director to ensure overall order quality and operational execution. While this is primarily an outbound and proactive sales role focused on increasing catering volume, any private venue/event inquiries generated during outreach are transitioned to the Senior Events & Venue Manager, with the Catering Sales Manager earning a referral commission on leads brought in.
Core Responsibilities
1) Proactive Sales & Revenue Growth (Outbound Booking Ownership)
  • Drive proactive outreach campaigns to corporate accounts, medical campuses, local businesses, and returning clients to increase catering sales volume.
  • Actively work to hit monthly and quarterly catering sales targets set by leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director to plan catering promotional campaigns and request collateral or print materials needed for outbound sales outreach.
  • Partner closely with the Catering Director to review upcoming catering orders, ensure operational feasibility, and guarantee zero-defect execution.

2) Toast Catering, ezCater & System Management
  • Own and manage catering technology platforms, specifically Toast Catering and ezCater.
  • Maintain and clean the catering guest database (CRM), keeping profiles, guest preferences, contact lists, and order histories up to date.
  • Continuously optimize platform configurations, digital menus, and ordering flows to ensure a seamless guest experience.

3) Customer Service & Brand Experience
  • Physically work on-site out of the catering restaurant, maintaining a hands-on presence on the floor and in operational staging areas.
  • Ensure every guest who places a catering order is proactively contacted prior to fulfillment to confirm details and post-fulfillment to guarantee complete satisfaction.
  • Provide warm, polished communication reflecting Olive & Finch brand standards, resolving guest issues quickly and professionally.

4) Cross-Department Collaboration & Event Lead Handoffs
  • Collaborate with the Senior Events & CSU Spur Venue Manager to share sales insights and streamline guest opportunities across divisions.
  • Identify private event leads during outbound catering outreach; seamlessly turn these leads over to the Events team while retaining commission eligibility for the generated booking.
  • Assist with direct catering deliveries or direct catering drivers as needed to ensure service commitments are met on peak delivery days.

Compensation & Perks
  • Status: Salaried, Exempt position (Base Salary + Sales Commissions).
  • Private Event Commissions: Earn applicable referral commissions on private event leads sourced and handed off to the Event Management team.
  • Delivery & Travel Support: Eligible for gas reimbursement and delivery commissions when performing or assisting with catering deliveries.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package (Medical/Dental/Vision/Retirement) including meal discounts, paid time off, and growth opportunities within Olive & Finch Collective.
  • Paid Sick Time: Up to 6 days per year

Success Metrics (KPIs)
  • Total monthly and quarterly catering sales growth
  • New client acquisition, re-order rates, and corporate account retention
  • Guest satisfaction, feedback scores, and post-order follow-up coverage
  • Catering guest database accuracy and cleanliness in Toast and ezCater
  • Order accuracy and seamless cross-departmental lead handoffs

Qualifications
Required
  • 2+ years of proven success in proactive sales, business development, or catering/hospitality sales
  • High technical proficiency in catering platforms, specifically Toast Catering and ezCater
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a warm, hospitable tone
  • Highly organized with superior attention to detail and strong follow-up discipline
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to assist with deliveries as needed

Preferred
  • Experience in high-volume catering production and delivery logistics
  • Familiarity with Restaurant365 (R365), 7shifts, and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of the Denver metro corporate and medical catering market

Work Environment & Schedule
  • On-site position based out of the catering restaurant location; not remote or hybrid
  • Flexible schedule, including morning start times, occasional weekends, or evenings depending on catering delivery volume and business demands
  • Hands-on role requiring active engagement, standing, walking, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs during order prep/delivery setup
