Summary Description:
The Manager of Conference and Event Services reports to the Assistant Vice President for Facilities. The Manager is the lead event and conferencing representative for Saint Peter's University and is responsible for external marketing, negotiating rates, successfully coordinating the schedule for all internal and external events and providing on-site management for programs. The individual is responsible for marketing and recruiting Saint Peter's as a potential venue for conferences, workshops, meetings, and retreats and coordinates rental of the meeting facilities throughout the year.
This is an exempt, salaried position with a potential annual salary of $75,000 - $85,000, contingent upon experience and qualifications. To align compensation with revenue growth, this position is eligible to earn up to $20,000 annually in progressive commission compensation, based solely on new revenue generated.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, plans and coordinates large scale, high profile events and summer conference/off season rental opportunities generating net revenues to the goal of 400K per year;
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive conference/summer camps/events marketing plan to attract external clientele to Saint Peter's University;
  • Coordinates the summer conference and camp schedule and assigns facilities for all internal and external summer programs;
  • Works with campus community and external clients to schedule all conference needs into the appropriate campus facilities and residences based on date and type of program, projected number of attendees, dining service needs and other requirements such as meeting and group space;
  • Maintains scheduling database to communicate schedule /facility changes to appropriate parties;
  • Participates in marketing and sales activities highlighting Saint Peter's University as a potential venue;
  • Works closely with college counsel to develop and implement policies and procedures related to conference services; assessment of health and safety and related risk issues;
  • Coverage of external events and summer conferences on evenings and weekends when necessary;
  • The Manager must be available to work evenings and weekends during conference program and event session.
  • Communicates and resolves problems effectively and in a timely manner with event organizers;
  • Works closely with University Services staff to ensure appearance and cleanliness of the space is appropriate to the client;
  • Works closely with University Communications staff to develop marketing materials;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000

Education:
