Description:

Purpose of the Position: Strategic Events Manager supports AVANT’s growth by leading the planning and execution of marketing initiatives that drive engagement with our Trusted Advisors. This role manages regional and national events, ensures alignment with AVANT standards, and works closely with the Senior Director of Global Events, Senior Manager of Regional Events, Senior Manager of National Events, VP of Market Development, Senior Manager of Corporate Sponsorship, sales and cross-functional teams. The position also includes taking initiative in mentoring team members and improving marketing processes to increase efficiency and impact.


Essential Functions:

  • Plan regional and national events such as Executive Business Reviews, CIO Events, Impacts, and/or certain unidentified events and oversee onsite event management from inception to completion
  • Serve as support for major national events to ensure successful implementation, such as Special Forces Summit, Channel Partners, Executive Connects, Academy Live events, etc
  • Support the AVANT Sales team in coordinating and executing marketing initiatives to recruit, enable and grow AVANT’s Trusted Advisors ecosystem
  • Ensure AVANT Sales Team and Tech Enablement Team apprised of activities, from event dates and intentions to supporting communications at their disposal, and any other updated tools, materials, and marketing trends and strategies
  • Facilitate event vendor (i.e. Venues, AV Companies, etc.) logistics including RFP, site visit, contract negotiation, signature, purchase requests and purchase orders, payment, onsite management for related vendors
  • Manage budget requirements through strategic recommendations and operational efficiencies and deliver projects within agreed timeline, budgets, and relevant POE
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing marketing processes by increasing efficiency and implementing best practices across the team and relevant departments
  • Champion the AVANT brand and voice across all marketing materials, ensuring consistency and quality in support of Trusted Advisor engagement
  • Demonstrate initiative by actively seeking out and participating in additional projects and cross-functional opportunities, contributing beyond core responsibilities to support team and company growth

Requirements:
  • This role is largely remote but proximity to our Chicago HQ office or Dallas HQ2 is required
  • This role requires the ability to travel multiple times a month
  • 3-5 years of experience in field marketing and event coordination, preferably in the tech or telecom industry
