The Development Events Manager serves a key role ensuring the seamless execution of strategic donor events. Responsibilities include working with the Engagement Team and supporting the fundraisers to organize and execute high-quality Ministry-wide events designed to connect, cultivate, solicit, or steward donors and prospective donors of K-LOVE in a manner that reflects the culture, values, and vision of the organization.

* This is an in-office position in Franklin, TN

Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…

  • Support the leaders of the Development Team to organize and execute high-quality donor events that have a clear purpose and expected outcome.
  • Collaborate with K-LOVE partners in Programming, Live Events, Marketing, Ministry Partnership, and others to achieve the goals of a specific event.
  • Work with Ministry staff to plan prospect/donor cultivation, ask, and stewardship events or prospect in conjunction with K-LOVE national events such as the Fan Awards, K-LOVE Cruise, Live at Red Rocks, and other Ministry-wide events.
  • Create event templates, timelines, and clear processes to ensure strong collaboration and communication among Development leaders and other Ministry staff.
  • Develop and leverage relationships with vendors, for example: catering support services, A/V equipment contractors, florists, event contractors and various venues’ management to ensure adequate support and flawless event execution.
  • Partner with contractors and/or organize team members and volunteers to help execute events on an as-needed basis.
  • Draft and send pre-event and post-event communications to donors on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to invites, save the dates, tickets, welcome letters, one-sheets, itineraries, instructions, and post-event follow-up emails
  • Availability to respond to and problem-solve donor questions or issues both prior to and during the events.
  • Track RSVPs and keep event lists accurate and up to date.
  • Create and distribute ROS, talking points, seating charts, itineraries, donor bios, and staff communications to support the execution of events.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Engagement and Ministry leadership on event attendance and responsibilities.
  • During events, the Development Events Manager will serve a “behind the scenes” role, orchestrating a smooth sequence of events, delivery of services, and technical support. The role will always be thinking 5 steps ahead to ensure details are well executed.
  • Facilitate post-event discussions with applicable members of the team focused on factors for success, problems, or hurdles related to events with a focus on rating the event’s effectiveness in achieving stated goals.
  • Manage donor events budget and all related contracts and payments
  • Manage master Engagement annual calendar of events.
  • Track and ensure individuals who attend the events are entered in Salesforce with a notation they attended the event.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, summits, and retreats.
  • Adhere to guidelines and administrative procedures including submitting expense reimbursements, invoices, and contact report timely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of K-LOVE.

  • Bachelor's degree or combination of education and training with relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ event management experience, preferably in the nonprofit field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain key business relationships and have a strong customer focus.
  • Must be able to adapt to a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds, both within and outside K-LOVE, to achieve mutually positive outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective attention to detail and time management with the ability to manage and complete several projects at the same time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with strong service mentality. Need to be seen as a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/Ministry relationships.
