About Lunch Bunch: Lunch Bunch is on a mission to change kids' nutrition and access to knowledge about healthy eating - and ultimately influence the role food can play in educating kids in a fun, creative, inspiring way. We are doing this by partnering with schools to offer unique enrichment programming where food can be the foundation of not only learning culinary arts & cooking, but also entrepreneurship, STEM skills, health and fitness, world history and more. The curricula are thoughtfully designed to incorporate multicultural learning, both familiar and growth mentality, partnership with school core curriculums and long-term lessons to build healthy habits over a student's lifetime.
Requirements
As the Commissary Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in managing and coordinating all aspects of production and inventory for our Enrichments program. You will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and packing of food, equipment, and supplies for all Enrichment cooking classes, ensuring each lesson pack is complete, accurate, and meets our high standards of quality.
In this role, you will also manage our production, storage, and office facilities, ensuring efficient operations and optimal organization. Your leadership will foster a collaborative and motivated team environment, and your attention to detail will be essential in maintaining quality, minimizing errors, and ensuring timely execution of all packing and inventory tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Packing & Inventory Management
  • Build and verify packs containing all equipment and supplies for each class, ensuring completeness and accuracy with minimal to zero errors.
  • Supervise the FOH team in pack preparation, ensuring adherence to packing lists and accuracy of contents.
  • Maintain accurate logs of unused supplies and damaged equipment.
  • Take monthly inventory of all equipment and supplies, updating records in the appropriate systems.
  • Source equipment alternatives based on available inventory.
  • Purchase equipment as needed to maintain a consistent 2-3 day packing cadence.

Team Supervision & Coordination
  • Lead and support the FOH team in:
  • Creating accurate pack lists and equipment logs by school location.
  • Unloading and organizing returned bags.
  • Sanitizing returned equipment and restocking appropriately.
  • Share successes and key learnings with the Director of Enrichments.
  • Participate in weekly Enrichment and company-wide meetings.
  • Create and maintain class binders and related materials.

Sanitation & Equipment Maintenance
  • Ensure all supplies, bags, and equipment are properly sanitized before reuse.
  • Confirm all equipment is in good working condition before distribution.
  • Oversee general cleaning tasks and assist with apron laundry as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary production and storage environment.
  • Clean, maintain, and store all kitchen equipment after use.

Food Production Support
  • Assist with food preparation and packaging to meet daily production targets.
  • Follow all health and safety protocols during food handling and production.

Facilities & Vendor Management
  • Oversee cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of all production, storage, and office facilities.
  • Manage service contractors, including scheduling and payment coordination.
  • Support porter and prep teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Guide proper storage, ripening, and usage of ingredients to reduce waste; maintain waste logs.

Procurement & Quality Assurance
  • Assist in procurement of raw products, ensuring timely ordering, optimal pricing, and high quality.
  • Maintain strong relationships with purveyors and vendors.
  • Enforce quality assurance and control standards across all production processes.
  • Continuously assess and improve production efficiency and minimize waste.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Inventory & Packing Expertise: Proven ability to manage inventory systems and ensure accurate, detailed packing for daily operations.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Experience supervising teams with strong delegation, training, and quality assurance practices.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to keep production, storage, and office areas clean, orderly, and efficient.
  • Sanitation & Food Safety: Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food handling, sanitation procedures, and kitchen safety standards.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with internal teams and vendors.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy and quality.
  • Problem-Solving: Resourceful and adaptable in finding equipment alternatives and improving packing and production processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using inventory software (Parsley), spreadsheets, and other digital tools for tracking logs, orders, and equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when assembling lesson packs, checking inventory, and recording logs.
  • Works Well Independently This role will be a bit of a hybrid as we grow our business in this new territory. Flexibility is essential to this position
