This is an opportunity to step into a well-established, high-performing practice with strong client relationships, an active project portfolio, and a national platform. We’re looking for someone who can build on that momentum by expanding client partnerships, developing teams, and driving sustained, meaningful growth.

You’ll play a key role in delivering infrastructure solutions that support the long-term health of our communities.

What You’ll Do

As a Client Service Director, you’ll operate at the intersection of client leadership, business development, and project delivery. You’ll help shape growth strategy while ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality, impactful work.

  • Grow Client Relationships: Strengthen existing municipal and industry partnerships while identifying opportunities to expand services, increase engagement, and grow overall client value.
  • Drive Business Development: Lead pursuits from early positioning through proposal and interview. Develop teaming strategies and maintain accountability for client portfolios, revenue growth, and overall performance.
  • Lead and Develop Teams: Build and guide high-performing, multidisciplinary teams. Support hiring, mentorship, and staff development aligned with client and business needs.
  • Deliver Quality Work: Oversee projects from planning through construction, including scope, staffing, and financial performance. Ensure delivery meets client expectations, business objectives, and quality standards.
  • Shape Strategy: Contribute to business and market planning. Use your understanding of client needs and market trends to help guide investment, growth priorities, and future direction.
  • Build Our Presence: Actively build Kennedy Jenks’ presence through client engagement, industry involvement, and thought leadership, strengthening relationships and increasing visibility in the market.

What Makes This Role Different

  • Established Platform, Real Momentum: You’re stepping into a strong, growing practice with active clients, a solid reputation, and a national footprint.
  • Opportunity to Shape Growth: You’ll help define where we go next—expanding services, strengthening client relationships, and building teams that support long-term success.
  • People-Centered Culture: You’ll work in a collaborative, employee-owned environment where leadership is accessible, and success is shared.

What You Bring

  • Proven ability to grow client relationships and drive revenue within water, wastewater, pipeline, stormwater, environmental, or industrial infrastructure markets
  • Experience leading client accounts, programs, or large, complex projects with accountability for performance and outcomes
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into actionable growth
  • Financial and operational acumen, including experience managing project performance, revenue targets, and profitability
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients, partners, and internal teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or related engineering field
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in consulting, engineering, or infrastructure services
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain
  • Design-Build experience and DBIA certification are a plus
  • Ability to travel to client sites and Kennedy Jenks offices as needed
