Job description

This internship will support the finance responsibilities of the supply chain for the Materials Management department. 

This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.

Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on need. The Intern receives assignments from
supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each
assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet deadlines, work in harmony with other
people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Responsibilities may
include one or more of the following:

  • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approval routing
  • Support timely payment processing and resolution
  • Monitor AP aging and follow up on outstanding items
  • Track incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
  • Follow up on outstanding balances as directed
  • Support AR aging analysis and reporting
  • Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Prepare and update recurring financial reports
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist with documentation of processes and procedures
  • Participate in other initiatives and priorities as assigned
