What is a church intern?

Church interns are individuals, often students or young adults, who work temporarily at a church to gain practical experience in ministry and church operations. Their duties can include assisting with worship services, youth programs, administrative tasks, and community outreach. Church internships provide valuable hands-on training and mentorship for those exploring or preparing for a career in ministry or related fields. These positions are usually part-time and may last for a summer, semester, or an academic year.

What types of responsibilities and learning opportunities can a church intern expect during their internship?

As a Church Intern, you'll likely assist with a variety of tasks such as supporting worship services, organizing youth and community events, and helping with administrative duties. You’ll have the chance to learn about church operations, develop leadership skills, and work closely with pastors and ministry leaders. Interns often gain hands-on experience in outreach, event planning, and pastoral care, providing a comprehensive view of church ministry and valuable preparation for future roles in faith-based organizations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a church intern, and why are they important?
