Admissions Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and reviews necessary medical/financial information in order to facilitate admissions process and to ensure continuum of care.
  • Reviews required admission documentation with appropriate responsible party as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible for accuracy of assigned work. Reports problems involving assignments to Admissions Director or Administrator.
  • Assists the Admissions Director in developing and managing a marketing plan to maintain census at budgeted levels.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and managed insurances.
  • Assists the Admissions Director in compiling and reporting monthly admission and discharge data.
  • Assists in reporting the daily census.
  • Maintains communication with hospital Social Workers, Case Managers, and Physicians. Communicates admissions to nursing departments.
  • Marketing in the community.
