Job description

RemX is partnering with a well-established professional services organization seeking a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, reconciliation work, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions in a fast-paced environment.


After a comprehensive training period of approximately 60-120 days, this position will transition to a hybrid work schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Accurately post and apply payments received via ACH, wire transfer, check, and credit card.
  • Research and resolve unapplied, misapplied, and unidentified payments.
  • Reconcile cash receipts and customer accounts to ensure payment accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies while working closely with internal departments.
  • Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for all cash application activities.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, reporting, and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor aging reports and support accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the cash application cycle.


Qualifications

  • Must have experience with 3E accounting software
  • 2+ years of cash application, accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting experience.
  • Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
