Accountant - Bank Reconciliations

Bank Reconciliations:

Accountant - Bank Reconciliations is responsible for supporting the bank reconciliation process across Elior North America's Shared Services Center. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of bank reconciliations, cash-related general ledger activity, and balance sheet integrity across multiple entities and locations.

What You'll Do

Bank Reconciliations & Cash Accounting

  • Prepare and complete timely, accurate bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities in accordance with SSC close calendars
  • Review and investigate reconciling items, including outstanding checks, deposits in transit, unapplied cash, and unexplained variances
  • Perform detailed analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure proper resolution and documentation
  • Monitor daily bank activity, including ACH, wires, checks, and lockbox transactions, ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules and ensure proper support is retained for audit and compliance purposes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate cash reporting
  • Support working capital objectives by ensuring accurate cash visibility and timely issue resolution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on bank reconciliations, cash accounting, and month-end close
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and balance sheet reconciliation best practices
  • Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and resolving reconciling items and cash-related variances
  • Experience working in a shared services, multi-entity, or high-volume environment
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation analysis)

Where you'll be working:

This position is based on site at our corporate office in Houston, TX, Mon-Thur in office and remote on Fridays. The office address is 4920 Westway Park Blvd, Houston, TX 77041.

Compensation Range

$29 to $32 per hour, based on experience.
