Data Analysis & Support 40%
- Participate in assessment and data collection to demonstrate the value and impact of an Oglethorpe University education.
- Develop and deliver Handshake training for Career Development staff.
- Train faculty and staff on the effective use of Handshake and career technologies.
- Create user guides, instructional materials, tutorials, and technology resources.
- Manage the First Destination Survey for student outcomes
- Participate in professional development to remain current on career technologies, assessment practices, and experiential learning best practices.
- Monitor employer accounts to ensure quality and identify fraudulent or inappropriate postings.
- Support employer information sessions, on-campus interviews, career fairs, and recruiting events.
- Serve as the primary administrator for Handshake and related career technology platforms.
- Manage system configuration, user accounts, permissions, workflows, integrations, and platform enhancements.
- Maintain accurate student, employer, faculty, staff, and alumni records
Career Counseling/Advising/Coaching 30%
- Develop creative and scalable strategies to advise and coach students on internship and job search and application processes; internship for credit program guidelines; resume/cover letter/personal statement reviews; mock interviews; and professional branding in a virtual space.
- Curate meaningful and accessible career readiness curriculum and teach for-credit career courses including, but not limited to, Senior Transitions and Career Development and Exploration utilizing scalable approaches and pedagogies.
- Build, facilitate, and assess career development workshops, panels, and events that cater to student needs, interests, and identities.
- Assist in the planning, organization, and communication for Career Development events, both virtual and in-person, including but not limited to fairs, panels, tabling, and networking.
- Assist with the onboarding and supervision of the Career Development Ambassadors
- Support the launch of a career communities' model to provide structured career exploration for students.
External Partnerships 10%
- Cultivate and nurture relationships and identify career opportunities with corporate, nonprofit, public, and private employers maintain healthy relationships with existing employer partners.
- Attend professional networking events to build and foster new partnership opportunities .
Alumni Engagement 5%
- Collaborate with Alumni Relations to engage alumni in opportunities to connect with students during career panels, resume reviews, mock interviews, networking events, and mentorship.
- Develop alumni participation in panels and mentorship opportunities related to career communities.
Career Development Operations 10%
- Build relationships between faculty and campus partners to increase understanding of NACE competencies and grow opportunities for internships, career excursions, class projects, class visits and access to jobs.
- Assist with the strategic planning, development, and implementation of career and professional development programming for the department.
- Assist in the development of an effective communications strategy, including curation of a list of high-priority opportunities for students through monthly newsletter.
Student Affairs Duties 5%
- Participate in institutional planning processes, divisional meetings, and represents Student Affairs on request at gatherings that include multiple functional areas.
- Participates in major Student Affairs and University events such as Orientation and Commencement.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Three or more years of experience in a career development or student affairs advising role.
- Experience using Handshake or similar career management systems is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to work with students from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds and constituencies.

Required Experience

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education, human resources, a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
Normal use of office equipment, sitting at a desk, walking, or standing, occasional lifting (<25 lbs). Due to the nature of services and programming provided, some evenings and weekends are required.
THIS ROLE IS FULL-TIME IN PERSON. Occasional remote work may be possible by request to a supervisor only when business operations permit. The Division of Student Affairs is a fully student facing department that requires the team to engage with students in person on campus.
