Catholic Central School, a PreK-12 school, is an OHSAA member school looking to fill the position of Athletic Director. The Athletic Director is responsible for the athletic program's leadership and organization, including sports participation at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
The Athletic Director will report directly to the school principal. The primary responsibility is to supervise the interscholastic athletic program.
The Athletic Director performs his/ her duties through the following:
Organization of:
Interscholastic programs for both male and female sports
Submitting annual budget proposals
Scheduling of athletic contests and officials for both male and female sports
Hiring staff and coaching personnel for seasonal support of the athletic programs
Equipment purchases
Clark County Fair fundraiser
Game security and crowd control
Working closely with Green and Gold Club
Game and concession financial management
Supervision and Evaluation of:
Coaches concerning their specific job responsibilities including certifications and licensures
Coaches in their preseason, in-season, and post-season responsibilities
Written reviews postseason each coach, established season checklist for job performance
Submitted coaches contracts and stipend agreements timely
Annual evaluation of facilities for reinvestment and upkeep including Jason Collier Gym and Hallinean Field
Communication, coordination, and cooperation with:
Administrative Team: keeping all informed through scheduling and updates for significant calendar events
Development and Admissions Offices: working with alumni, promoting the school for prospective families
Marketing Office: promotion of our students and programs through social media and websites
Green and Gold Club: managing concession support and game volunteers
Coaching Staff: develop job descriptions for each coach and enforce the Coaches Handbook
Maintenance and Custodial Staff: site preparation and cleanup
Athletic Trainer and Third Party Vendor (currently Ohio Valley Sports Medicine)
Students: build trust and support for students participating
Parents: execute pre-season meetings for each sport
Faculty/Staff: support the academic programs for student success, passes for attendance, involvement in game participation
Fans/Spectators: annual meeting of sportsmanship reminders
Press and News Media
OHSAA: compliance with licensure and annual professional development
League officials: attend monthly meetings and end-of-season award meetings
Game Officials: timely evaluation of the officials to OHSAA
Candidates with experience in an OHSAA member school and/or an athletic department will be given additional consideration. Candidates must be able to get a Pupil Activity Permit and pass a background FBI/BCI check and SafeParish training. Demonstrated ability and experience to be organized and work within a team environment is preferred.
