LoneStar is a leading global provider of standardized and custom high-performance fasteners, gaskets, and flow-control components to the oil and gas and the power generation industries. Headquartered in the UK, the group consists of 13 business units across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager lead the organizations’ efforts in identifying, quantifying, understanding, and penetrating new market opportunities which are outside of current core markets, but which capitalize on the organizations’ core competencies and value propositions. In addition, the Business Development Manager will provide strategic and commercial leadership across LoneStar’s US business units to improve customer acquisition and retention, improve market share, expand into new market segments, and add new sales channels and geographies in the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • With direction from the sales and management teams, identify new, untapped business opportunities and customers for fasteners and gaskets that are outside of the Group’s core fossil fuel markets
  • Analyze opportunities to understand potential attractiveness for entry, including total available market, product and material specifications, approvals and certifications required, competition, and pricing and margin potential
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop a structured, systematic marketing and sales plan for selected industries and target customers, and execute
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and develop plans to pursue as appropriate
  • Set targets, monitor progress and report regularly to management and stakeholders to review strategy
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge and raise Group brand awareness through networking, industry events, and presentations, and through these interactions, educate customers on LoneStar’s value propositions
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned
SKILLLS amp; QUALIFICATIONS
  • The Business Development Manager will not have any direct reports, however, must be able to work effectively through influence.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Marketing preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in external sales and/or business development, with demonstrated success in bringing on new business.
  • Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong level of business acumen and developing business strategy
  • Proven ability to penetrate new accounts and the creation and delivery of account plans and strategies
  • Record of developing and maintaining strong external relationships with customers, suppliers and third party service providers; ability to represent all LoneStar Group companies at the highest level with customers and clients regarding all operations
  • Ability to work independently with little day-to-day oversight
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry trends across multiple vertical
