Call Center Data Clerk
Job no: 503872 Work type: Intermittent Location: Chicago - 300 E Randolph St Capability Area: Call Center
JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this Call Center Data Clerk role, you will be primarily responsible for prompting business professionals over the phone, editing and standardizing documents in preparation for data entry and assigning codes based on data provided. No sales or quotas! The ideal candidate has good communication skills and computer knowledge.
As a Call Center Data Clerk, (internally known as a Production Clerk), you will call medical offices across the country to solicit crucial research data.
This is a day shift opportunity, working 20-25 hours a week, Monday through Friday between 8AM and 5PM.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate for this role:
  • has good communication skills and basic computer knowledge,
  • enjoys speaking with people from diverse backgrounds and professions,
  • is available to work day shift hours, 20-25 hours a week, Monday through Friday between 8AM and 5PM.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Gain the cooperation of respondents over the phone in order to complete a survey by being persuasive and appropriately assertive.
  • Administer survey using a pre-written script.
  • Record survey answers verbatim.
  • Maintain neutral and objective communication with respondents.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time in a production work environment.
  • Must be required to lift 35 pounds and/or push carts up to 75 pounds.
  • May be required to retrieve items using a step ladder.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly.
  • Ability to talk on the phone within close proximity to others in a large and potentially loud call center.
  • Knowledge of Windows, such as sending email or opening and using a web browser to search for information.
  • Ability to sit and use a telephone headset, dial phone numbers, use a computer keyboard, and read a script off a standard-size computer monitor for up to four hours continuously.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The pay for this position will be $21.43 per hour, which is based on geographic location.
This position is classified as intermittent. Intermittent staff are eligible for the following benefits:
  • Call Center Data Clerks working on the NIS project are eligible for an increase to their 403(b) account. NORC will contribute to an individually owned, fully vested retirement account with TIAA at a rate of $5.09 for each hour worked, and contributions will be made on a quarterly basis.
