Job Description

Position: Business System Analyst

Location: Salem, OR

Duration: 6+ Month Contract

Eliciting, verifying and validating requirements, defining scope and objectives, ensuring systems are in alignment with overall business strategies and developing, publishing and implementing test plans. Minimally this will be based on working knowledge and a variety of business analysis practices and procedures.


Performing quality assurance and quality control. Minimally this will be based on working knowledge of quality concepts, practices and procedures, including defining and tracking quality metrics (such as defect densities and open defect counts).

Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs.

Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating Contractor technical design documentation against overall business strategies.

Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business and technical workflows for effectiveness and planning or designing improvements in operations.

Coordinating stakeholder participation, creating stakeholder engagement materials, communications and business acceptance.

Monitoring, analyzing and evaluating federal policies related to health information technology, as well as existing and proposed systems.

Monitoring, analyzing and interpreting current and emerging technology standards.

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Acting as OHA's technical subject matter expert when working with State, Partner and Contractor staff.

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.

Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least six years or equivalent experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
