Job description

Business Operations Analyst

Turn Data Into Decisions. Partner Across the Business. Drive Meaningful Change.

At Demco, we believe the best business decisions are powered by great insight and even better partnerships. We're looking for a Business Operations Analyst who thrives at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and collaboration. This isn't a role where you'll spend your days building reports in isolation. You'll work directly with leaders across Finance, Operations, Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and IT to uncover opportunities, simplify complex business challenges, and help shape the future of our organization.

If you're naturally curious, possess strong financial and business acumen, enjoy asking "why," and love bringing people together around solutions, we'd love to meet you.

As a trusted business partner, you'll help leaders make smarter, faster decisions by:

  • Analyzing financial and operations performance to identify trends, understand key business drivers, uncover opportunities for improvement, and provide meaningful insights to leadership
  • Building financial models and business cases to evaluate growth opportunities, investments, efficiency initiatives, and cost savings opportunities
  • Partnering with leaders across departments to understand business challenges, evaluate financial and operation impacts, and develop data-driven solutions
  • Acting as the bridge between business teams, leadership, and IT to improve reporting and business processes
  • Leading process improvement initiatives that create measurable business impact

This Role Is Different

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of reports you create-it's measured by the decisions you help leaders make.

You'll have visibility across the organization, influence strategic initiatives, and become a trusted advisor to leaders throughout the business. We're looking for a financially strong analyst who can operate across the business and is comfortable challenging assumptions, facilitating productive conversations, and turning complex problems into practical solutions.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being at the center of the business, collaborating with diverse teams, and making a tangible impact on organizational performance.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, finance, operations, or a related field
  • Experience in a small or mid-sized business environment is a plus
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to understand financial statements, evaluate business performance, and translate complex financial and operational data into actional recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build and analyze models using assumptions, scenarios, sensitivity analysis, and ROI calculations
  • Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau (preferred)
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence facilitating discussions with leaders across multiple functions
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine passion for improving how work gets done

Why Demco?

At Demco, you'll do work that matters alongside people who value collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions, build relationships across the organization, and help shape the future of our business.

Work Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in our Madison, Wisconsin office.
