Job description

We are actively seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our exceptional global team. The position is based out of our New York City office located near Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan. Embracing a flexible hybrid work policy, we invite candidates in the tri-state area to apply. We have experience training people from the AEC industry without SaaS experience who are interested in a tech career, especially if you worked on proposals. All you need is a strong work ethic, and desire to be on the phones helping solve pain points for AEC firms. We have an in-office requirement of 3 days per week.

Company Description

OpenAsset is the leading Digital Asset Management solution built for the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering industries, with over 1,000 clients and 20 years of experience. Our mission is to inspire people through visualization of the built world, providing AI powered solutions to AEC teams across the world.

We're a diverse, collaborative, and fast-growing team of 100+ employees with offices in New York, London, and Australia. Backed by Marlin Equity Partners, we're passionate about creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and has a voice, and we actively hire from a diverse pool of candidates.

Business Development Representative Description

This is a phone-first role for someone who loves being on calls and thrives on live conversation. You will spend most of your day working the phones against a mix of cold and warm leads, setting meetings for our Account Executives. Success comes down to becoming a master of the cold call, handling objections without flinching, listening actively, and relating to the real pain points of the AEC professionals you speak with every day. Successful candidates are promoted within 1-2 years into a variety of GTM roles.

Business Development Representative Responsibilities

  • Spend most of the day on the phone calling into a mix of cold and warm leads.
  • Master the cold call to set qualified meetings for our Account Executives.
  • Handle objections in real time and keep the conversation moving.
  • Listen actively and connect with the day-to-day pain points of AEC professionals.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities across your target accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with our Account Executives to set meetings and drive sales.

Business Development Representative Skills and Experience

  • Experience in the AEC industry is our top priority, ideally within the proposal process. Backgrounds like marketing coordinator, marketing manager, or business development are a strong fit.
  • A high work ethic and no fear of picking up the phone.
  • Resilient and comfortable hearing "no" often.
  • Pleasantly persistent on the phones.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport.

You do not need:

  • BDR or SaaS experience.
  • A college degree.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Medical / Dental / Vision coverage - 100% employer-paid for employees, 50% employer-paid for dependents
  • 20 days paid time off per year + federal holidays
  • 5 paid sick days
  • Work from home flexibility
  • Commuter benefits
  • 401k with employer match
  • Paid parental leave
  • Career growth and development opportunities

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
