Job description

ASI currently has a hybrid work model. This position requires in-person attendance at our office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

ASI is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Event & Business Development Specialist to help recruit and engage top-performing promotional products distributors for ASI's premier hosted buyer events, including fASIlitate and Power House. This role combines business development, event recruitment, and account management to ensure high-quality distributor attendance while delivering an exceptional attendee experience.

Reporting to the Vice President, ASI Show Operations, this individual will play a key role in driving recruitment efforts, managing distributor relationships, and collaborating across marketing, sales, and event operations to achieve attendance goals and maximize the success of ASI's hosted buyer events.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. Individual pay within the range will be based on role-related experience, education, skills, and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and secure qualified distributor attendees for ASI's hosted buyer events through proactive outbound prospecting, consultative selling, and relationship management.
  • Develop and manage targeted recruitment pipelines using CRM data, historical attendee lists, referrals, social media, and industry research to achieve attendance goals.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors by understanding their business objectives, communicating the value and ROI of ASI events, and supporting attendee onboarding and retention.
  • Partner with Marketing, Event Operations, Distributor Sales, and Supplier Sales teams to execute successful recruitment campaigns and ensure an exceptional attendee experience.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, prepare recruitment reports, respond to inquiries, resolve escalated attendee issues, and communicate participation across internal teams.
  • Represent ASI at hosted buyer events and trade shows through travel as needed while meeting individual and departmental performance goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2–4 years of business-to-business sales, business development, recruiting, or account management experience.
  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships and influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through and project management skills.
  • Experience with event management, conference planning, or travel coordination is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems; experience with Personify/D365 is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for ASI events and industry meetings as needed.
