JOB SUMMARY
AAA Mountain West Group is seeking a strategic and innovative Senior Organizational Development (SOD) Manager to design and deliver transformational leadership experiences. In this high-impact role, you will act as the expert architect for initiatives that build core capabilities for our people leaders. Moving beyond traditional program management, you will serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to HR leadership and business executives, diagnosing capability gaps and co-creating solutions that drive measurable business results. You will balance long-term strategic thinking with operational excellence to execute leadership assessments, executive coaching, and curated development at scale.
NOTE: This role is hybrid and requires 3 days a week onsite in our Walnut Creek, CA office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Strategic Needs Analysis & Diagnosis
    • Collaborate with senior leaders to translate core competencies into measurable capabilities.
    • Design engaging learning experiences and development solutions that address organizational needs and align with AAA MWG's strategic priorities.
    • Implement measurement strategies aligned with key people metrics.
    • Establish a feedback loop to capture the "voice of the executive," ensuring continuous evolution of the L&D/OD roadmap.
    • Identify and leverage modern tools, including GenAI and hybrid training applications, to accelerate learning outcomes in a modern work environment.

  • Leadership & Executive Development
    • (Strategically develop high-potential and current senior leaders through tailored programs, executive coaching, and focused interventions aimed at enhancing leadership competencies, strategic thinking, decision-making, and overall organizational impact.
    • Lead the administration and debriefing of 360-degree feedback and psychometric assessment tools; helping evolve the enterprise executive coaching program and set high standards for leadership engagement.
    • Design and facilitate leadership experiences, including workshops, "in-the-flow" learning, and virtual formats ensuring content is practical, high-touch, and tailored for a senior audience.

  • Program Delivery & Professional Growth
    • Deliver engaging and effective group sessions, workshops, and training programs, both in-person and virtual.
    • Collaborate with the team with the creation of training and learning experiences focused on professional and career development for individual contributors.
    • Lead collaborative teams and manage external vendors to deliver solutions; championing a "leaders as teachers" culture, empowering executives to model the behaviors that inspire change across the organization.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Strategic Expertise: Proven ability to build deep business acumen and use industry trends/research to design leadership experiences that achieve tangible ROI.
  • Coaching & Assessment Proficiency: Experience utilizing psychometric tools and 360-degree assessments to drive leader self-awareness. Professional Coaching Certification (e.g., ICF) is a significant plus.
  • Instructional Design & Facilitation: Expert understanding of adult learning principles with a track record of facilitating high-stakes sessions for VP+ audiences.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the presence and credibility to influence and advise senior executive leadership.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage the full lifecycle of complex OD initiatives, from initial conception through to launch and evaluation.

EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
    • 8+ years of experience building and scaling leadership and organizational development programs within complex environments.
    • Or High School diploma and 12 years of experience building and scaling leadership and organizational development programs within complex environments.
    • Or combination of education and experience

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's in Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, or Human Resources
