Job description

Ludlum Measurements, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Circuit Board Assembler to join our Surface Mount team in Sweetwater, TX.  This person will install electronic components by loading, operating, and maintaining the surface mount machine.  In this role you will also rotate between other positions within the department involving operating automated inspection equipment and perform detailed soldering when replacing components as needed. 
To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-motivated individual with keen attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Read drawings, bill of materials and other supporting documents to build up blank circuit boards
  • Manage and change components as needed to complete jobs on a pick and place machine
  • Applying solder paste to boards using specialized stencils and a solder pasting machine
  • Installing parts on blank circuit boards using an automated component pick and place machine
  • Perform quality control by using an automated optical inspection machine to identify various potential problems
  • Rework and/or repair circuit boards by installing and removing components as required
  • All other job duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated starter able to take initiative to complete work
  • Ability to learn, adapt and troubleshoot to deal with challenges as they arise
  • High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • Solder experience 
  • Experience operating automated equipment
  • Experience reading engineering drawings
  • Basic understanding of circuit board technology and component types found on circuit boards
