Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

A Wave Planner will deliver load level - wave planning & planning support to optimize the efficiency in the logistical process by monitoring and balancing the workload within the warehouse & logistics department. A Wave Planner is responsible for allocating orders, releasing work to the warehouse floor, ensuring inbound and outbound orders are received and loaded accurately, and that truck turn times are within acceptable levels. Assigns and monitors the work including receiving, putaways, picking, staging, and loading.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Assigns and monitors distribution including staging, wave times and pick assignments for various teammates.
  • Assigns receiving work and ensures receiving accuracy in coordination with Shipping/Receiving Clerks.
  • Ensures proper order allocation by shipment ID or shipment line depending on the load.
  • Prepares trailer loading reports for all outbound loads, organizes/prioritizes the paperwork to each loader as they complete loads.
  • Receives completed paperwork for inbound orders and outbound loads, reviewing discrepancies and finishes appointments.
  • Manage shorts and determine in coordination with Operations Manager and Office Manager to cut order lines.
  • Determines which doors or yard locations trailers should be positioned.
  • Ensures the proper people are in the appropriate areas and on the correct equipment to evenly complete work in the queue.
  • Observes and manage priorities of all work and manages priorities of live loads, to make sure we have prioritization of work and loads in the queue. Releases work in a manner that ensures maximum levels of productivity, and carrier turn times.
  • Responsible for escalating any system problems. Assists co-workers with questions regarding system issues or picking.
  • Execute all safety procedures and standards regarding the storage and receipt of goods.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Solid communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently or as a team.
  • Knowledge of Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System preferred.
