Position Summary:
The Bible Teacher at Wilmington Christian Academy is responsible for providing Christ-centered instruction that equips students with a biblical worldview, a growing understanding of God's Word, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible Teacher will disciple students spiritually while promoting academic excellence and supporting the mission of Wilmington Christian Academy.
Mission Alignment:
The Bible Teacher shall actively support the mission of Wilmington Christian Academy:
"Wilmington Christian Academy, in partnership with the student's family, aims to provide academic excellence with a Christian foundation to cultivate mature disciples of Jesus Christ."
The Bible Teacher must demonstrate a vibrant Christian testimony and model Christlike character both inside and outside the classroom.
Essential Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership
  • Maintain a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Model Christian character, integrity, and servant leadership to students, families, and staff.
  • Integrate biblical truth into all aspects of classroom instruction and student interactions.
  • Encourage students toward spiritual growth, discipleship, and Christlike living.
  • Lead students in prayer, Scripture study, and meaningful discussions regarding biblical truth and application.
  • Participate in faculty devotions, chapel services, and other spiritual life activities of the school.

Instructional Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Bible lessons that are age-appropriate, biblically accurate, and aligned with the school's curriculum.
  • Teach students foundational biblical knowledge, Christian doctrine, apologetics, and biblical worldview principles.
  • Foster critical thinking and encourage students to apply Scripture to everyday life.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the learning needs of diverse students.
  • Assess student learning through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of grades, attendance, and student progress.

Classroom Management
  • Establish and maintain a positive, orderly, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
  • Promote respect, responsibility, and biblical conflict resolution among students.
  • Implement school policies and procedures consistently and fairly.

Student Development
  • Build positive relationships with students that encourage spiritual, academic, and personal growth.
  • Pray regularly for students and provide biblical guidance when appropriate.
  • Recognize and communicate student strengths, concerns, and progress to parents and administration.

Communication and Collaboration
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the overall educational and spiritual goals of the school.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a mature Christian walk.
  • Agreement with the Wilmington Christian Academy Statement of Faith and commitment to uphold biblical standards in conduct and lifestyle.
  • A passion for Christian education and discipleship of students.
  • Bachelor's degree in Bible, Theology, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Appropriate teaching credentials or the ability to meet Ohio non-public school requirements.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach and relate to students in a Christ-centered environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively supervise students for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to perform the duties required in a classroom setting.

Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Head of School or designated administrator in accordance with Wilmington Christian Academy evaluation procedures.
Work Environment:
The Bible Teacher serves as both an educator and a spiritual mentor. This position requires a commitment to academic excellence, biblical fidelity, and partnership with families in developing mature disciples of Jesus Christ.
