Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven General Sales Manager (GSM) to lead our sales operations. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sales department, including new and pre-owned vehicle sales, team leadership, inventory management, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a strong track record in automotive sales performance and team development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team (Sales Managers, Consultants, and BDC)
  • Drive new and used vehicle sales to meet and exceed monthly and annual targets
  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee inventory strategy, pricing, and merchandising
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer standards, and legal regulations
  • Collaborate with Finance, Service, and Marketing departments to maximize dealership performance
  • Analyze market trends and implement effective sales strategies
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer experience and retention

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of automotive sales management experience (GSM or high-level Sales Manager)
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales goals in a high-volume dealership
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
  • Deep understanding of dealership operations, CRM tools, and desking
  • Experience with Toyota brand standards (preferred but not required)
