Motive Workforce is partnering with an innovative Southern California technology company developing advanced battery systems for defense and commercial applications.

This is an opportunity to join a small, highly collaborative engineering team where you'll help develop next-generation battery technologies from concept through production. You'll work across electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and software disciplines to create rugged energy systems designed for mission-critical applications.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design and commercialization of advanced rechargeable battery systems from concept through production.
  • Translate customer requirements into manufacturable battery solutions optimized for performance, reliability, safety, and cost.
  • Design battery packs, electrical architectures, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, quality documentation, and safety procedures.
  • Analyze battery performance using data-driven engineering methods.
  • Collaborate with cell suppliers, manufacturing partners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Support technical proposals, customer demonstrations, and engineering documentation.
  • Contribute to patents, technical publications, and regulatory documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers as the engineering organization continues to grow.

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Hands-on experience designing, testing, and manufacturing lithium-ion battery systems.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Battery Management Systems (BMS)
    • Battery pack architecture
    • High-voltage electrical systems
    • Battery safety standards
  • Experience creating:
    • Electrical schematics
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Cable drawings
    • System diagrams
  • Experience designing custom PCBs and/or ASICs.
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following:
