Job Summary
Ensure box maker is running correctly. Monitor and correct any issues that arise.
Essential Functions
  • Inspect blocks as they enter box makers for leakers, ripped bags or foreign material.
  • Ensure good operation of box maker including flaps properly glued and boxes wrapped properly.
  • Keep the box makers stocked at all times with glue, liners and boxes.
  • Update lot number log sheet for boxes, glue, and liners.
  • Ensure proper case coding of boxes after box maker.
  • Any blocks not boxed must be placed on the designated carts- Do not put blocks on the floor.
  • Clean box maker and surrounding area each day during the CIP down time.
  • Monitor the operation of the box maker and clear any errors that occur.
  • Monitor operation and clear any errors at the real cold.
  • Ensure proper operation of Real Cold on your side.
  • Keep area generally clean during production (Pick up trash, cardboard and area clear of debris).
  • Keeps records in accordance with good manufacturing process and local and state laws.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)and/or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • May be exposed to humidity, intense heat, and areas with possible air contamination, fumes and toxic chemicals.
