Job Title: 3rd Shift Bakery Mixing LeadJob Description

This role leads the 3rd shift mixing operations in a high-volume bakery production environment. You oversee a team on the production line, ensure batches are mixed accurately and on time, and maintain strict adherence to quality, food safety, and safety standards. The schedule runs Sunday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with some flexibility and additional hours required based on production needs, especially during the busy holiday season. You play a key role in training team members, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a culture where leadership works alongside the production team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise 3rd shift bakery mixing operations in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Oversee the operation of production lines, ensuring that each line produces the correct products according to daily order demands.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate mixing batches to meet production schedules and output targets.
  • Train incoming quality and production employees on processes, procedures, and expectations.
  • Write and manage production schedules to ensure adequate staffing and coverage for all required tasks.
  • Ensure all team members follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
  • Implement and maintain quality standards across the mixing and production processes.
  • Monitor and support quality assurance and quality control activities to meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Collaborate with quality, production, and sanitation teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety programs, including HACCP and SQF guidelines, as applicable.
  • Support adherence to regulatory requirements related to USDA, FDA, and OSHA standards.
  • Use Microsoft programs to track production data, document processes, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and guidance to production team members on the 3rd shift.
  • Support sanitation efforts by coordinating with the sanitation team on equipment teardown, cleaning, and reassembly requirements.
  • Model a hands-on leadership style by working alongside the production team as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive, appreciative culture by recognizing employee efforts and fostering teamwork.
Essential Skills
  • 2–3 years of lead or supervisory experience within a food manufacturing facility.

Work Environment
