Your Impact:

Communications and Social Media at Formlabs tells the story of our technology, our community, and the incredible things being built on our machines. We sit at the intersection of engineering, design, and digital content.

If you are a maker at heart who loves telling stories about awesome engineering - we want you as our Social Media Engineering Intern. In this role, you won't just talk about making things; you'll print, film, edit, and publish stories that inspire millions of creators worldwide.

Internship Term: Fall 2026 (September 14 through December 18, 2026)

Commitment: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Location: Onsite in Somerville, MA (in-person)

What You'll Do:

  • End-to-End Video Production: Own social video projects from pitch to hitting publish. Pitch trends/ideas, set up prints on Formlabs printers, film the process, edit high-energy videos, and distribute them across our channels.
  • Operate Independently & Collaboratively: Work self-sufficiently on quick-turn stories while integrating seamlessly into the larger social media team to support broader marketing initiatives.
  • Turn Tech into Content: Showcase physical parts, prints, and engineering projects in compelling, visual ways that resonate with engineers, artists, doctors, and makers alike.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Support reporting and analytics to measure content performance, refine strategies, and optimize for reach and engagement.
  • Trendspotting: Spot real-time social trends, viral audio, and maker-community conversations, acting fast to translate them into relevant Formlabs content.

About You:

  • Hands-on Creator: You have hands-on experience with video editing software (Premiere, DaVinci, Final Cut, etc.) and a knack for creating engaging video content.
  • Curious & Technical Mindset: You enjoy physical making, tinkering, or understanding how things work. Experience with 3D design/CAD or 3D printing is a major plus!
  • Social Savvy & Fluent: Understanding of digital platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, LinkedIn) and what makes content go viral. 
  • Storyteller: An eye for spotting incredible technical applications and turning them into compelling narratives that balance fun, humor, and professionalism.
  • Self-Starter & Fast-Paced: Comfortable taking an idea from concept to finished export on your own, while remaining adaptable and ready to balance multiple deadlines.
