Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Oversee converting machine operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Continually monitor machine operation to insure accurate product measurements are maintained.
  2. Call maintenance or set up technicians as needed.
  3. Make minor machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  4. Assist set-up tech in pre-maker-ready activities.
  5. Maintain standard production rates, low waste and meet all stated customer requirements.
  6. Complete all necessary documentation and reports.
  7. Set up and adjust rewinders; remove product from rewind machine and box for shipping.
  8. Weigh scrap from run and separate into bins.
  9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations.

This position performs specific job duties that require the following physical demands:

  • Viewing film and graphic characteristics; Observing safe and accurate machine operation.

This position has the following specific job duties that are affected by the environmental conditions selected above

  • Exposure to continuously operating converting machines and related equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Benefits:

This is a full time, contract to hire position. All successful candidates will be placed through a staffing agency for a period of time of no less than either 90 calendar or business days, depending upon the agency for which they are placed. After the 90 requirement has been fufilled and the successful candidate is ready to be hired; all candidates will complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, lift test, audiogram and physical.
