The Information Architect is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving controlled documentation supporting manufacturing operations, quality systems, and product knowledge. This role ensures that procedures, work instructions, and technical publications are accurate, clear, and aligned with company standards and ISO 9001 requirements.


Documentation Development & Control

 

  • Develop, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation including:
    • Work instructions
    • Operating procedures
    • Training materials
    • Equipment manuals
    • Reports, proposals, and technical publications
  • Ensure all documentation meets established standards for:
    • Clarity
    • Consistency
    • Structure and formatting
    • Terminology and accuracy
  • Maintain company Document Control System

Process & Technical Understanding

 

  • Observe production, development, and testing activities to understand processes and operating methods
  • Analyze and interpret:
    • Blueprints, drawings, and specifications
    • Process flow diagrams and parts lists
    • Product samples and mock-ups

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Production
    • Quality
    • Engineering
    • Maintenance
    • Safety teams
  • Collaborate to ensure documents reflect current practices and requirements

Research & Data Review

  • Review technical materials such as:
    • Manufacturer manuals
    • Vendor documentation
    • Industry publications
  • Incorporate relevant technical data into company documentation

Document Review & Continuous Improvement

  • Review existing documentation and recommend improvements in:
    • Content accuracy
    • Format and usability
    • Workflow and document control processes
  • Maintain document revision history and records in accordance with the quality management system

Visual & Publication Support

  • Select or coordinate development of:
    • Photographs
    • Diagrams
    • Charts and illustrations
  • Assist in formatting and layout of documentation for publication and distribution

.Safety, Workplace & Professional Standards

  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas in accordance with 5S standards
  • Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions
  • Follow all company policies, Quality System processes, and safety requirements
  • Maintain punctuality, reliability, and acceptable attendance

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or Engineering required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Technical Writing or similar position
  • Sharepoint experience is Required
  • JIRA Experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 document control principles and quality systems preferred

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical writing and editing skills with ability to create clear, concise, and accurate documentation
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
  • Ability to interpret technical information (drawings, specifications, process flows)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document development and revision control
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with document management systems and standard office software
  • Ability to organize, manage, and complete multiple projects within deadlines
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, processes, and products
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements
