Reporting to the SVP, Content, the Associate Director, Content Policy will lead The Orchard's efforts to identify, investigate, and mitigate cataloglevel risks within our client base. This role focuses on fraud detection, suspicious or noncompliant client behavior, ambiguous content scenarios, and policy interpretation across DSPs. You will act as a key decisionmaker for borderline or unprecedented cases, ensuring The Orchard's catalog remains compliant, reputable, and aligned with DSP and industry standards.

This position requires someone who is comfortable using data and patternrecognition to surface risks at scale, helping to spot issues early and guide proactive intervention. You will need to have experience with AI agents. Ability to define ambiguous issues and find unambiguous scalable solutions. You will work closely with Legal, Operations, and Relationship Management teams, providing guidance on grayarea cases, interpreting policies, and navigating sensitive or nuanced escalations. You will also build processes and frameworks to strengthen The Orchard's proactive risk posture and help shape our approach to emerging catalogintegrity challenges.

What You'll Do:
  • Office- first role, in office 4 days a week.
  • Lead investigations into fraud signals, suspicious activity, or policyviolating behavior across The Orchard's catalog; determine root causes and oversee remediation plans
  • Use data to identify trends, anomalies, or recurring patterns that indicate emerging risk areas across the catalog
  • Evaluate and make calls on ambiguous, borderline, or unprecedented content situations that fall outside standard operational workflows
  • Interpret DSP policies and internal guidelines for grayarea scenarios, providing clear and actionable guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Partner with Relationship Management, Legal, and Operations to resolve complex or sensitive catalogintegrity issues
  • Liaise with DSP contacts to discuss policy interpretation, align on escalations, and advocate for The Orchard's clients' interests in nuanced cases
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams to ensure potential risks are surfaced early and handled consistently
  • Develop frameworks, standards, and documentation to support proactive catalogrisk detection and evaluation
  • Track patterns in client behavior, identify emerging risks, and support strategic recommendations to reduce catalog integrity and fraudulent behavior issues over time
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with internal partners to provide updates, summaries, and nextstep guidance for sensitive situations
  • Collaborate across teams to continually strengthen The Orchard's catalog quality, policy adherence, anti-fraud efforts, and reputation with DSPs
Who You Are:
  • 5+ years of experience in music, digital platforms, policy, trust & safety, content integrity, rights management, or related fields
  • Fluency in additional languages preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and risk signals across large, diverse datasets
  • Excellent judgment with demonstrated ability to make firm decisions in ambiguous or sensitive situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to distill complex issues into clear recommendations
  • Comfortable navigating escalations with DSPs or clients, including articulating policy positions and advocating for The Orchard's and our clients' needs
  • Highly organized and detailoriented; able to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to work crossfunctionally and build strong working relationships across Legal, Relationship Management, and other internal teams
  • Understanding of music rights, copyright claims, and dispute processes
  • Comfort working with data tools (e.g. SQL, Looker, Sigma, or similar) to pull insights and support investigations; advanced proficiency is helpful but not required
  • Experience with DSP CMS or enforcement tools (e.g. YouTube CMS, Meta Rights Manager, TikTok MediaMatch) is a plus
  • Proficiency in Google, Apple, and Microsoft applications
